Most lake home owners are looking for rustic elements that tie the home to the outdoors.  Many of our designs feature a mixture of stone, board and batten, and shake to give the home just enough of a rustic feel.  We also liberally use craftsman details such as dormers, brackets, and open rafters to give the design a feeling of quality.  The interior of lake homes we’ve built typically feature stained trim and woodwork mixed with painted sheetrock so that the home has a rustic yet modern feel.

All of our lake home designs take advantage of the views off the back of the house.  Family rooms, kitchens, dining areas, and bedrooms typically all have great views of the lake.  We also add plenty of outdoor space such as covered porches, screened porches, and patios to connect you with the outdoors.  An outdoor fireplace on a screened porch overlooking the lake is a feature that we love to add to any lake home design.

Access to the lake is critical in any lake home.  After all, the lake is why you came in the first place.  Most lake homes include a basement or terrace level.  The terrace level is a great place for secondary bedrooms, recreation rooms, wet bars, and theater rooms.  We also have several designs that feature the main living areas on the Terrace or Lake level. We give careful thought to how you’ll get in and out of your home as you enjoy the lake.  Lake storage is very important.  Access to a bathroom near the lake is a priority for many lake home owners.  How about an outdoor shower for rinsing off before entering the house?  When it comes to lake home design, we’ve “been there and done that” and can help make sure your lake home meets your needs for years to come.
