I designed the Acadia Mountain Cottage as a 3-bedroom, 3.5-bath mountain cottage that stacks 1,411 square feet across three stories on narrow and sloping lots. This plan is for the buyer who wants a wraparound porch, a screened porch, and multiple levels of living in a compact footprint that fits sites where bigger plans simply cannot go.
The main floor holds 913 square feet with an open floorplan and nine-foot ceilings that keep the space feeling comfortable and connected. The flow from kitchen to dining to living is seamless. Upstairs, 498 square feet adds a bedroom and a loft for flexible space. The lower level at 902 square feet holds a bunk room, flex room, and game room with full walkout access on a sloping site. Every floor has purpose, and the vertical layout means you get three stories of living in a footprint most plans use for one.
A wraparound porch, screened porch, and patio give you covered outdoor living that wraps around and below the home. At 46 feet 8 inches wide by 42 feet deep with no garage, this cottage fits narrow and sloping lots that most plans cannot handle. The three-story design takes full advantage of grade changes, turning a challenging site into a fully functional home on every level. It is mountain cottage living at its most efficient.
The Acadia Mountain Cottage plan is available for $1,495. For similar compact mountain designs, see Foothill’s Cottage, Watersound Cottage, Mountain Moss Cabin, and Stone Ridge Cottage.

Builder Insight
I designed the Acadia Mountain Cottage for the kind of site most house plans treat as a problem — a lot with real grade change. The walkout lower level, deep covered porches, and vertical massing are all intentional. Slope is an asset in the right design. This plan uses it.
