Banning Mills Lodge is a 5-bedroom, 4.5-bath mountain lodge that delivers 2,488 square feet across three stories with a detached 3-car guest garage and a bridge connecting it to the main home. I designed this plan for sloping lake and mountain lots where you want a serious home with lodge-scale features in a footprint that is not overwhelmingly large.
The main level holds 1,812 square feet with a vaulted family room and vaulted master suite that give the primary spaces the drama they deserve. Large windows flood the living areas with natural light. The open living layout connects kitchen, dining, and family room naturally. Upstairs, 676 square feet adds a bedroom and a loft open to the living space below. The optional heated lower level at 1,812 square feet opens up a recreation room, theater room, and additional living. Nine-foot ceilings on the main level keep proportions right.
A front porch, screened porch, breezeway, deck, and covered patio give you outdoor living on every side. The bridge to the detached guest garage at 42 by 29 feet is a standout feature that provides serious vehicle and storage capacity while keeping the main home focused on living. At 76 feet wide by 52 feet deep on sloping lake or mountain lots, this lodge commands its site with the presence of a much larger home.
The Banning Mills Lodge plan is available for $1,495. Similar lodge-scale plans include Camp Stone, Baker Lake Cottage, Asheville Cottage, and Hunter’s Bend.

Builder Insight
I designed the Banning Mills Lodge the way I approach every plan — starting with how a family actually lives in a home, not with the exterior style. Open flow where it matters, private space where it's needed, and no wasted square footage. That's 25 years of building experience in every dimension.
