A house plan with two master suites solves a problem that cookie-cutter designs ignore: flexibility. Maybe you're planning for parents moving in. Maybe you want a private guest space. Maybe your kids need their own space with ensuite baths. Two master suites on the main level gives you options.
The open living area connects both suites without forcing you into awkward traffic patterns. Each master has its own bath, walk-in closet, and privacy. The rest of the home flows around this arrangement naturally—no weird hallways, no dead zones. You get a kitchen that works for multiple people, a living room that doesn't feel divided, and outdoor space that everyone can access directly.
I've watched multi-generational households thrive in this layout because the design respects independence while keeping the family connected. That matters.
The Appalachia Double is a 2 to 4-bedroom, 4-bath mountain home with two master bedrooms on the main level and 2,068 square feet of vaulted living across two stories. I designed this plan for couples, dual owners, or families who want two equally luxurious master suites on the same floor with an optional walkout basement that doubles the home.
The main floor holds the full 2,068 square feet with vaulted great room and vaulted master suites that make both primary bedrooms feel equally special. The open living layout connects kitchen, dining, and family room naturally, and the laundry and mud room handle the everyday logistics. The optional lower level at 2,068 square feet adds a recreation room, bunk room, and additional bedrooms for an unfinished or finished basement that can expand the home as needed. Vaulted ceilings in both master suites are a rare feature that sets this plan apart.
A front porch, gazebo, walkout patio or deck, screened gazebo porch, open deck, screened porch, and stoop give you outdoor options at every turn. At 57 feet wide by 56 feet 10 inches deep on a sloping lot, this plan fits mountain and lake sites naturally. The dual master bedroom configuration on the main level is the defining feature, making this plan ideal for partners who value equal space, or vacation homeowners who share ownership.
The Appalachia Double plan is available for $1,495. Similar plans with unique configurations include Chimney Top, Appalachia Mountain II, Appalachia Mountain, and Adirondack House Plan.

Builder Insight
I designed the Appalachia Double the way I approach every plan — starting with how a family actually lives in a home, not with the exterior style. Open flow where it matters, private space where it's needed, and no wasted square footage. That's 25 years of building experience in every dimension.
