I designed the Lake Glenville Cottage as a waterfront cottage house plan for narrow, sloping lots where capturing the view from every angle is the whole point. This 3-bedroom, 2.5-bath design delivers 1,501 square feet across two stories, wrapped in more outdoor living than plans twice its size.
The main floor holds 931 square feet with a first-floor master suite positioned to take full advantage of the views, and an open living area centered on a stone fireplace that makes cool mountain evenings feel like exactly what you came for. Step outside to the wraparound porch or screened porch depending on the weather, and use the grill deck when it is time to cook outside. Upstairs, 570 square feet of sleeping quarters open directly onto a private upper deck – arguably the best feature on any lake or mountain plan.
At just 34 feet wide and 44-foot-4-inch deep, Lake Glenville fits the narrow waterfront and sloping lots that reject larger plans outright. No garage keeps the footprint tight and the cost honest. This is a plan that works with a challenging site rather than fighting it.
Plans are $1,495. For similar waterfront designs, see the Lake James Cabin, The Runaway, Water’s Edge, and Waterview Cabin.

Builder Insight
I designed the Lake Glenville Cottage with the waterfront in mind from day one — not as an afterthought. The living spaces face the water, the porches connect each level to the outdoors, and the layout is built for the way people actually use a lake house. If your lot drops toward the water, this plan turns that terrain into an asset.
