How I designed this plan.
The Little Lake House is the 3-bedroom lake cabin floor plan I designed for the buyer who wants one-story simplicity with the vaulted ceilings and open feel of something much larger. At 1,315 square feet on a single level, this plan lives remarkably well for its size.
Nearly every main space in this house vaults overhead — the master suite, the great room, the secondary bedroom, and even the screened porch all feature vaulted ceilings that create a connected, airy feeling throughout. The open layout puts kitchen, dining, and great room in one flowing space with no walls breaking up the view.
A front porch greets you on arrival, and a screened porch and open deck give you multiple ways to enjoy the outdoors depending on the weather and your mood. The optional loft, reached by a ladder, adds flexible bonus space whenever you need it. At 49 feet wide by 41 feet 4 inches deep with no garage, the Little Lake House keeps the footprint honest and the costs predictable.
It fits small lots and narrow lots without compromise, and the single-level layout makes it accessible for all ages. What is included in the Little Lake House plan set?+
Each plan set includes dimensioned floor plans for all levels, front, side, and rear elevations at 1/4" scale with notes and dimensions, a foundation plan for the version supplied, and roof plan. Additional foundation options are available separately and are not included in the plan price. Please inquire before ordering to confirm whether we have the version you need. Available as a PDF plan set ($1,495) or editable CAD files ($1,950). Electrical plans are not included because they are customer-specific and finalized on site with your builder and electrician after framing.
Can the Little Lake House plan be modified?+
Yes. Modifications are one of the most common services we provide. Our in-house design team handles all modifications directly. Does the Little Lake House plan require a structural engineer's stamp?+
Stock plans do not include a professional engineer's stamp. Many US jurisdictions require a licensed engineer in your state to review and stamp the plans before permit submission. Check with your local building department before purchasing. This is a standard industry practice and is not unique to Max Fulbright Designs.
Who designed the Little Lake House plan?+
The Little Lake House plan was drawn personally by Max Fulbright Sr., the founder of Max Fulbright Designs. Max is a Georgia Institute of Technology-trained engineer who has designed and personally built more than 500 custom homes since founding the firm in 1990.
