I designed the Boulder Mountain Cabin as a 3-bedroom, 3-bath A-frame cabin that gives you 2,141 square feet across three stories with a carport. If you have ever dreamed of an A-frame on a mountain or lake lot, this plan takes that iconic silhouette and fills it with a layout that actually works for modern living.
The main floor holds 1,466 square feet with a vaulted great room that soars under the A-frame roofline, creating the kind of dramatic space that makes guests stop in their tracks. Nine-foot ceilings anchor the standard rooms while the vaulted spaces climb to their full potential. Upstairs, 675 square feet holds a bedroom with vaulted ceilings that opens to the living space below, giving the upper level a treehouse quality you will never get tired of. The lower level mirrors the main floor footprint with storage and a recreation room that gets full daylight on a sloping lot.
Outside, an A-framed porch, patio, open deck, and front porch give you outdoor options on every level. At 78 feet 1.5 inches wide by 54 feet 8 inches deep, this plan makes the most of sloping, narrow, mountain, and lake lots. The carport keeps vehicles covered without the cost of a full garage. This is an A-frame built for people who want to live in it, not just visit.
The Boulder Mountain Cabin plan is available for $1,495. For more mountain and cabin designs, explore Appalachia Mountain, Asheville Mountain, Appalachia Mountain II, and Camp Stone.

Builder Insight
I designed the Boulder Mountain Cabin for the kind of site most house plans treat as a problem — a lot with real grade change. The walkout lower level, deep covered porches, and vertical massing are all intentional. Slope is an asset in the right design. This plan uses it.
