The Hidden Branch Cabin is a 2-bedroom, 2-bath small cabin that gives you 1,198 square feet across two stories on a narrow, sloping lot footprint. I designed this plan for the buyer who wants a compact cabin with a first-floor master, vaulted ceilings, and an optional walkout basement that can double the living space down the road.
The main floor holds 876 square feet with an open floor plan, a vaulted family and dining room, and a first-floor master that keeps your primary suite on the main level. Nine-foot ceilings throughout keep the proportions comfortable, and the open layout means no wasted hallways or dead-end rooms. Upstairs, 322 square feet adds a second bedroom and flexible space. The optional basement adds another 1,198 square feet of living on a sloping lot with full daylight and walkout access.
A front porch and rear open deck give you outdoor living on both sides of the home. At 38 feet 4 inches wide by 41 feet deep with no garage, this cabin fits narrow and sloping lots that most plans cannot handle. The simple footprint and straightforward framing keep construction costs predictable. It is an honest small cabin that grows with you when you finish the basement.
The Hidden Branch Cabin plan is available for $1,495. For more small cabin designs, see Fish Camp Cabin, Little River Cabin, Hatchet Creek, and Black Mountain Cottage.

Builder Insight
I designed the Hidden Branch Cabin for the kind of site most house plans treat as a problem — a lot with real grade change. The walkout lower level, deep covered porches, and vertical massing are all intentional. Slope is an asset in the right design. This plan uses it.
